Tribute to a centenarian

My grandpa was a strong man at 100 years, he walked, he cooked, he even drove with a valid licence. He had simple pleasures in life. He enjoyed keeping up with the news, watching the chickens, a little bit of walking for exercise and of course, taking his 40-something year old VW beetle for a drive.

Last night, he passed away after a few days of feeling unwell.

Tonight his body will be transferred to St Steven’s church where it will rest for the wake until Saturday, when the church funeral takes place at 4pm. The cremation will be held at Mandai Crematorium at 6.45pm.

I trust that he is in God’s arms where he will live happily, now that he is reunited with Grandma, who passed on 28 years ago.

He lives on in my heart and in my prayers. What a legend.

Goodnight gong-gong! I will see you on the other side.
